Happy New Year! Henrik took his first trip to the cabin for the long weekend over New Years with the whole fam. We think he enjoyed it! It was super cold up north, so we built a fire in the fire place and spent some quality time snuggling indoors. As we looked at our pictures when we got home we realized we had A LOT of photos of people napping and relaxing with our little guy.
Before we headed north we captured a few moments of hanging at home...
A little tummy time - he's not so sure about this whole process!
Once we loaded what felt like half of our house into the truck, we took off for the lake! Henrik's did GREAT in the car! He basically slept the entire way, and only started to make a little noise as we drove through Baxter. Hopefully his solid car riding skills continue!
Let the napping begin... clearly Scout wants in on the action!
Alex wants to make sure that Henrik learns how to be handy from the beginning...so he read his Family Handyman magazine to him... and then they took a nap!
Hanging with Nana watching his cousins play on the floor
Stealing a hug from our nephew Kellan
Loving up our nephew, sweet Beckett
Our niece Hadley loves to help with baby "Henwik," she especially like to rub his little feet - which she calls "his tiny tootsies."
Once we put all the kids to bed the adults had a great steak and crab dinner - the guys graciously volunteered to grill the steaks in the -15 degree winter night. They made sure to drink plenty of beer in order to stay warm!
We celebrated New Year's Eve with our family friends, the Kaminskis - Pat LOVES babies!
Uncle Buck and Titi Kelly teaching Pat how to use her new iPhone
Boompa and Mickey...solving the world's problems!
Once dinner was over we bundled up and headed out onto frozen Gull Lake to release sky lanterns. Nana found these lanterns, and thought it would be fun to release them on the lake - she was right!! It was really chilly, but SO worth it! The sky lanterns were beautiful, the pictures do not do them justice!I think this may be a new tradition!
